Last Tuesday, we started off our Primary Guided Reading Workshop by reading through some select quotes from Fountas and Pinnell on guided reading. The goal of this activity was to build a common understanding of what is guided reading and what is the role of the guided reading teacher.

This activity helped to clarify the definition of guided reading and the role of the guided reading teacher. The teachers who participated wrote down actionable steps for instructional adjustments they would make based on new understandings.
